Instructions:

  1. Power Supply Connection:

    • Connect the input voltage to the VIN pin.
    • Connect the output voltage to the VOUT pin.
    • Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (3.0V to 20.0V).
  2. Output Voltage Adjustment:

    • Use the ADJ pin to set the output voltage. Connect a voltage divider network between VOUT and GND, with the ADJ pin connected to the midpoint of the divider.
    • The output voltage ( V_ ) can be calculated using the formula: [ V_ = V_ left(1 + fracright) ] where ( V_ ) is the reference voltage (1.24V), ( R_1 ) is the resistor from VOUT to ADJ, and ( R_2 ) is the resistor from ADJ to GND.
  3. Capacitor Selection:

    • Place a 1μF ceramic capacitor close to the VIN pin to stabilize the input voltage.
    • Place a 1μF ceramic capacitor close to the VOUT pin to stabilize the output voltage.
  4. Thermal Management:

    • Ensure adequate heat dissipation if operating at high currents or in high ambient temperatures. Consider using a heatsink if necessary.
  5. Shutdown Function:

    • To place the device in shutdown mode, pull the SHDN pin low. This will reduce the quiescent current to approximately 1μA.
    • To activate the device, pull the SHDN pin high or leave it floating.
  6. Storage and Handling:

    • Store the device in a dry environment within the specified storage temperature range (-65°C to 150°C).
    • Handle with care to avoid damage to the pins and package.
