Instructions for Using ADS1115BQDGSRQ1
Power Supply:
- Connect the VDD pin to a power supply within the range of 2.0V to 5.5V.
- Connect the GND pin to the ground.
Input Configuration:
- Configure the multiplexer (MUX) to select the desired input channels (single-ended or differential).
- Ensure that the input voltages do not exceed the input voltage range of -0.3V to VDD + 0.3V.
Data Conversion:
- Set the data output rate (DR) according to your application requirements.
- Start a conversion by writing to the configuration register.
- Read the conversion result from the conversion register.
Communication:
- Use I2C communication to interface with the ADS1115.
- The default I2C address is 0x48, but it can be changed by connecting the ADR pin to GND, VDD, or a floating state.
Configuration Register:
- Write to the configuration register to set parameters such as MUX, gain, data rate, and operating mode.
- The configuration register is 16 bits long.
Conversion Register:
- Read the 16-bit conversion result from the conversion register.
- The result is left-justified for 12-bit resolution.
Operating Mode:
- Choose between continuous conversion mode or single-shot mode.
- In single-shot mode, the device powers down after each conversion to save power.
Temperature Considerations:
- Ensure that the device operates within the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
- For extended temperature ranges, consult the datasheet for additional specifications.
Power Management:
- To reduce power consumption, use the power-down mode when conversions are not required.
- The device automatically enters power-down mode in single-shot mode after a conversion.
Handling and Storage:
- Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge.
- Store the device in a dry, cool place to prevent damage.
