Instructions for Use:

  1. Mounting and Handling:

    • Ensure the device is mounted on a heatsink to maintain junction temperature within the specified range.
    • Handle the device with care to avoid mechanical damage.
  2. Circuit Design:

    • Ensure that the peak on-state current does not exceed 300A for more than 10ms to prevent thermal damage.
    • Use a gate resistor to limit the gate current and protect the device from overvoltage spikes.
  3. Thermal Management:

    • The device should be thermally coupled to a heatsink to dissipate heat effectively.
    • Monitor the junction temperature to ensure it remains below 125°C during operation.
  4. Gate Triggering:

    • Apply a gate trigger current of at least 50mA to ensure reliable turn-on.
    • Ensure the holding current is maintained above 40mA to keep the device in the on-state.
  5. Voltage Ratings:

    • Do not exceed the maximum off-state voltage of 800V to avoid breakdown.
    • Ensure the repetitive peak off-state voltage does not exceed 800V to prevent damage.
  6. Storage:

    • Store the device in a dry, cool place within the temperature range of -55°C to 150°C.
  7. Safety Precautions:

    • Follow all safety guidelines and standards when handling and operating high-voltage components.
    • Use appropriate protective equipment and follow proper grounding procedures.
