Instructions for Use:
Input Voltage:
- Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range of 2.7V to 5.5V.
- Use appropriate input capacitors to stabilize the input voltage.
Output Voltage Setting:
- The output voltage can be adjusted using external resistors. Refer to the datasheet for specific resistor values.
Inductor Selection:
- Choose an inductor that matches the switching frequency and output current requirements. A typical inductor value is 1.0μH for this device.
Output Capacitor:
- Use low ESR ceramic capacitors for the output to ensure stability and minimize ripple. A recommended value is 10μF.
PCB Layout:
- Place the input and output capacitors as close as possible to the device to minimize parasitic inductance.
- Use wide and short traces for power and ground connections to reduce resistance and inductance.
Thermal Management:
- Ensure adequate heat dissipation by providing a thermal pad or heatsink if operating at high currents or in high ambient temperatures.
Protection:
- The device includes overcurrent, short-circuit, and thermal shutdown protection. However, it is recommended to design the system with additional protective measures as needed.
Enable Pin:
- The enable pin can be used to control the on/off state of the converter. Connect to VCC to enable and to GND to disable.
Shutdown Mode:
- To enter shutdown mode, pull the enable pin low. The quiescent current will drop to 0.5μA in this mode.
Stability:
- Ensure the loop compensation network is properly designed to maintain stability over the entire operating range. Refer to the datasheet for compensation component values.
