Instructions for Using 74HC595D
Power Supply:
- Connect VCC to the positive supply voltage (2.0V to 6.0V).
- Connect GND to the ground.
Serial Data Input (DS):
- Connect this pin to the data source that will provide the serial input data.
Shift Register Clock (SH_CP):
- Connect this pin to the clock signal that shifts the data into the shift register.
Storage Register Clock (ST_CP):
- Connect this pin to the clock signal that transfers the data from the shift register to the storage register.
Output Enable (OE):
- Connect this pin to ground (GND) to enable the outputs.
- Connect to VCC to disable the outputs.
Master Reset (MR):
- Connect this pin to VCC to keep the device active.
- Connect to GND to reset the shift register and storage register.
Serial Data Output (Q7S):
- This pin provides the serial output data, which can be used to cascade multiple 74HC595D devices.
Parallel Outputs (Q0 to Q7):
- These pins provide the parallel output data from the storage register.
Example Usage:
Shift Data In:
- Apply a clock pulse to SH_CP while holding MR high and OE low.
- For each clock pulse, the data on DS is shifted into the shift register.
Transfer Data to Storage Register:
- Apply a clock pulse to ST_CP to transfer the data from the shift register to the storage register.
Enable Outputs:
- Ensure OE is low to enable the parallel outputs.
Reset:
- Pull MR low to reset the device.
By following these instructions, you can effectively use the 74HC595D shift register to manage and control multiple digital outputs.
