Instructions for Using 74ACT253

  1. Power Supply:

    • Ensure the supply voltage (VCC) is within the range of 1.65V to 3.6V.
    • Connect the ground (GND) pin to a stable ground reference.
  2. Input Signals:

    • Apply input signals (A, B, S0, S1) such that the low-level input voltage (VIL) is below 0.8V and the high-level input voltage (VIH) is above 2.0V.
    • The select lines (S0, S1) determine which input pair (A or B) is passed to the output.
  3. Output Signals:

    • The output signals (Y0, Y1) will be driven to a low level (VOL) if the corresponding input is low, and to a high level (VOH) if the corresponding input is high.
    • Ensure that the load connected to the outputs does not exceed the maximum power dissipation (Pd) of 100mW.
  4. Timing:

    • The propagation delay time (tpd) is typically 2.2ns but can vary up to 4.5ns. Account for this delay in your timing calculations.
  5. Temperature Considerations:

    • Operate the device within the temperature range of -40°C to 85°C for reliable performance.
    • Store the device within the storage temperature range of -65°C to 150°C to avoid damage.
  6. Handling:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge, which can damage the internal circuits.
    • Use appropriate ESD protection measures when handling and soldering the device.
  7. Layout and Grounding:

    • Use a proper PCB layout with adequate ground planes and decoupling capacitors close to the power pins to minimize noise and ensure stable operation.
  8. Testing:

    • Before finalizing the design, test the device under various operating conditions to ensure it meets the required specifications.
