Instructions for Using FAN7320

  1. Supply Voltage (VCC):

    • Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 4.5V to 20V.
    • Avoid exceeding 20V to prevent damage to the device.
  2. Gate Drive Voltages:

    • The high-side gate drive voltage (VGH) should be set to the same as VCC or up to 15V.
    • The low-side gate drive voltage (VGL) should be set to 0V or up to 5V.
  3. Gate Drive Currents:

    • The source and sink currents for the high and low sides should not exceed 3.5A.
    • Ensure the load resistance (RL) is appropriate to avoid excessive current draw.
  4. Propagation Delays:

    • The propagation delay times (tDHL and tDLH) are critical for timing accuracy.
    • Ensure these delays are within the specified range to avoid timing issues.
  5. Delay Skew:

    • The delay skew (tDSK) should be kept within ±20ns to maintain synchronization between high and low sides.
  6. Minimum Pulse Width:

    • The minimum pulse width (tPWmin) should be at least 60ns to ensure proper switching.
  7. Maximum Duty Cycle:

    • The maximum duty cycle (Dmax) should not exceed 99% to prevent continuous conduction.
  8. Operating and Storage Temperatures:

    • The operating temperature range is from -40°C to 125°C.
    • The storage temperature range is from -40°C to 150°C.
  9. Handling and Installation:

    • Handle the device with care to avoid static discharge.
    • Follow proper soldering techniques to ensure reliable connections.
  10. Testing and Troubleshooting:

    • Use a multimeter to verify the supply voltage and gate drive voltages.
    • Check for any short circuits or open circuits in the circuit.
    • Refer to the datasheet for more detailed troubleshooting steps.
