Instructions for Use:
Supply Voltage (VDD):
- Ensure the supply voltage is within the range of 1.8V to 5.5V to avoid damage to the device.
Output Current (IOUT):
- The device can provide up to 100mA of output current. For loads requiring more current, consider using a higher capacity regulator or a heatsink.
Quiescent Current (IQ):
- The quiescent current is typically 10μA, which is low and suitable for battery-powered applications.
Dropout Voltage (VDROPOUT):
- The dropout voltage is typically 120mV. Ensure that the input voltage is at least this much higher than the desired output voltage to maintain regulation.
Load Regulation:
- The output voltage may vary by up to 1% with changes in load. This is within typical specifications for linear regulators.
Line Regulation:
- The output voltage may vary by up to 0.5% with changes in input voltage. This ensures stable performance over a wide range of input conditions.
Output Voltage Range (VOUT):
- The output voltage can be adjusted from 1.2V to 5.0V using external resistors. Refer to the datasheet for specific resistor values.
Operating Temperature (Toper):
- The device is designed to operate reliably from -40°C to 125°C. Avoid operating outside this range to prevent thermal stress.
Storage Temperature (Tstg):
- Store the device in an environment where the temperature ranges from -65°C to 150°C to ensure long-term reliability.
Installation:
- Mount the device on a PCB with appropriate clearance and thermal management if necessary. Use a heatsink for high-current applications.
Capacitors:
- Use input and output capacitors as recommended in the datasheet to ensure stability and reduce noise. Typical values are 10μF for input and 10μF for output.
PCB Layout:
- Keep the traces short and wide to minimize inductance and resistance. Place the input and output capacitors close to the device for optimal performance.
