Instructions for Use:
Input Connection:
- Connect the input voltage (VIN) to the positive terminal of the power supply.
- Ensure the input voltage is within the specified range (4.5V to 20V).
Output Connection:
- Connect the output voltage (VOUT) to the load.
- The fixed output voltage is 5V.
Ground Connection:
- Ensure a common ground connection between the input and output circuits.
Heat Dissipation:
- For high current applications (IOUT > 1A), use a heatsink to manage heat dissipation.
- Monitor the temperature to avoid exceeding the thermal shutdown threshold (160°C).
Capacitors:
- Use a 10μF ceramic capacitor on the input side and a 10μF ceramic capacitor on the output side for stability.
- Place these capacitors as close as possible to the device to minimize parasitic inductance.
Efficiency Considerations:
- The device operates most efficiently when the input voltage is close to the output voltage.
- Efficiency is typically around 90% at VIN = 12V and IOUT = 1A.
Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR):
- The device has a high PSRR at low frequencies (70dB at 10 Hz) and moderate PSRR at higher frequencies (40dB at 100 kHz).
- Use additional filtering if noise on the input line is a concern.
Thermal Management:
- Regularly check the temperature of the device during operation.
- If the device exceeds 160°C, it will enter thermal shutdown to protect itself.
Storage:
- Store the device in a dry environment with temperatures between -40°C and 125°C.
Handling:
- Handle the device with care to avoid damage to the pins and internal components.
- Follow standard ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) precautions when handling the device.
